Interests: I like to rant and rave. I also like to talk alot. Those who know me and are my friends are all saints, sometimes I ask so much of them. I'm a selfish person who wants everything to herself, but is trying to give all of herself away to her Savior.

is in the eye of the beholder

Everyone's different, everyone's unique and beautiful in their own special way.

How often do we hear that mantra poured into our ears by well-practiced mothers?
When we hear it, we automatically think of the physical.  "Well, I've got curly hair and she's got..."  Yet the moment anyone mentions twins, the meaning of this phrase changes dramatically.

Suddenly, we're all different because of our "personalities".

--- So yes, I say this should apply to all people at all times.
Essentially, God creates empty, average bodies.  The difference, the uniqueness of us all comes from the life that FILLS the skin.  God doesn't make beautiful bodies.
Let's say that again.

GOD DOESN'T MAKE BEAUTIFUL BODIES.

             ... he makes beautiful PEOPLE.

If I were to ask you "who are you?", would you immediately move down the physical checklist?  "Straight, brown hair, brown eyes, 5'2" ..."
NO.  You don't.  Why?  Because that's not YOU, and you know it.  It's a body.  What makes you YOU are the ways you choose to express the beauty inside.
Some people have beautiful, flowing handwriting, and some write sweeping novels.  Some run like the wind, dance like a swan, or sing like an angel.  Sometimes it's the graceful way they move their hands they're talking or the expressive intensity of their eyes when they're listening.  It can even be the easy, carefree way they shrug on a backpack, or the way they wave their fingers to say hello.

Whatever avenue you find to express the beauty inside - it's usually not something you notice.  It's something you do NATURALLY, without any practice or preparation - because what it is, is the
BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING you.
The person God created, beneath the body.

So next time you look in the mirror and start to feel ugly, just tell yourself - the body's not hott, but ME?  Daaaang girl.... that's fiiine!  Sizzle on, vixen!

And so ends all cheesy rants about the topic of teenage girlhood:
beauty.

So dear friends,
I come to you with a request today.

Life is going to be very tough for me very soon,
let's just say.
I could use prayer.  A lot.
I could use courage, and strength.
To face myself.
To face the monster.
To face... things.

Some of you may know what I'm talking about.
Most of you don't.
Just know I'm not perfect.
God, I'm not.  Not even close.

Fingertips tremble over keys, seeking for unspoken words, unexpressed feelings.
And then they dive, swooping, telling

How to even begin?
My heart still pounds.
My eyes are still puffy, I can't yet breathe through my nose.
I pause.
Children are beautiful.
Oh God when I think of my little 2's... when I think of the kids around the lake, shrieking at feeding a duck... when I think of futures and tiny finger bones...

And to think that so many of those never come to be.
They just never knew.
They never knew what BEAUTY existed.
That it could exist.

Oh, Bella.
You all need to see that movie.
It's the most beautiful movie I've seen in my entire life.
I don't care if you don't have money, I'll give you some.
Go.
If anything ever made me pro-life, this is it.
I guess before tonight, I always figured I couldn't judge people because sometimes they are in really tough situations.
I didn't know what I would do if I had to carry a baby 9 months and I couldn't keep it.
Now I know.

I think of my mom and it just makes me cry.
You may not all know but my mom gave her son up for adoption when she was in college.
She just met him for the first time three years ago.
I never knew why she loved him, he was just a pathetic druggy with szitophrenia.
Oh God that I ever judged her, him...

So Heather has a job now.
I stage houses.
I'm a staging assistant.
And I get paid $20 an hour.

YES, DROOL WITH ENVY.

Hahaha I love my job.
For those of you who don't know, staging is when you put some furniture and accessories back into a house once it's on the market so that it appeals to potential buyers more.  And in this market, trust me, you need it.  But seriously, it's waaay fun and all the houses that we stage are SO cute.  On thursday I went to a broker's open at a house built in 1926 that still had ALL the original woodwork, lights, cabinetry, etc.  It was adorable!  And it had an ice box.  Seriously, way cute.  If I was single or married with no kids, I would buy that house in a SECOND.

In other news, the FCS all-nighter was last night which was also pretty much fantabulous.  I love my class of 08!  They're the best ever.  :D  But now I am very veeery tired and feeling kinda sick (after two sodas, a red bull, a coffee, and a crapload of candy, I'm not really suprised).  So I shall retire to bed shortly.

One quick more thing that is pretty dang shallow but I'm going to say it anyways.
(note: this is not a good example of Christian Jesus-ness)
I got four new dresses within, like, the past week and a half.  >.<
BUT I SWEAR THREE OF THEM WERE FREE!
So it doesn't really count.
I'm just kinda mad I bought that first one, heh!
Anyways I bought one (wore it to Sarah's party for those of you who attended),
and then last night I was suddenly hit with the inspiration of taking old skirts, cinching them around the waist with a belt, and making adorable dresses.  Turns out two of my skirts are simply dashing in such a fashion (and much better employed than as a skirt, in my personal opinion), and so now the tally reaches three.
Now for those of you who are uninformed, my family has experienced a slight change this week in that a chinese couple are now renting a room from us.  George and Carol are really sweet but they speak really bad english!  Anyways, today Carol comes up to me and offers me this really cute summery dress and says that she bought it a really long time ago but never wore it, and now she's too old!  So I tried it on and it's waaaay cute.
And here the tally reaches four.

Sigh
I love dresses.
